Busy Bee: Vintage Keys

Hello Honeybees,

Here is what I have been working on lately for Billie Jean Jewels, my shop on Etsy. I have quite a bit of vintage keys & key holes that I plan on making into necklaces, bracelets & earrings. I have two listed already on my Etsy shop & I need to find the time to make more. Hopefully that will happen in the near future. Until next time.

Sweet as Honey: Red Dress, Wood Toys

Hello Honeybees,

My wittle, baby bee, Tory is just sweet as honey. I could squeeze, hug & kiss her every second of every day. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of moments during the day when I want to pull my hair out & scream. We had a little fun today, just hangin' out, the two of us. Tory has on another dress from one of my favorite vintage, children's clothing shops on Etsy, Baby Tweeds. Isn't it a sweet little dress? I wanted to have a playdate out in the living room with all of Tory's new toys that her G.G got her. All of the wood toys are organically made & hand made. These really are my favorite type of toys. The big doll & pink rattle are from a company called, Lucky Boy Sunday. There are only a few stores that carry the brand in the States. I bought them from two online stores called, Huset & BabybubbleNYC. I love, love these dolls because they are very french chic meets "creepy." Ha ha. I know that sounds odd, but how else do you describe these dolls? I like them. Thanks for reading, as always. Until next time.

Bee-ing Thrifty: Vinyls, Ceramics & Kitchenware

Hello Honeybees, 

I've been so out of it lately. Maybe it is the lack of sleep that I get from having a baby? Or it could be all the lack of sleep from college that is finally catching up with me? Or, maybe it is just the fact that I can't sleep at night!? I have so many emails to read & catch up on, the house to tidy up, and a shower to take. Ugh. I had a TON of Etsy orders to complete, so it feels good to have those finished & shipped off! Huge task checked off my list! Anyways, yesterday I got to get out of the house (I was getting a little bit of cabin fever) and I stopped by two thrift stores here in Baton Rouge (on Government Street aka the Garden District).

The first store: St. Vincent De Paul Society  

How much I spent: $13 (with tax)

Here is what I bought: Two records, ceramic bowl, a basket & a pot holder

The second store: Honeymoon Bungalow 

How much I spent: $26 (with tax)

Here is what I bought: Three records

I love finding great deals, especially at thrift stores. Doesn't everyone?

Hello Honeybees,

As you all know, I love my antiques & vintage clothing. BUT, I also really, really love my high end designers. Like, a lot. So for my first official "outfit post," I wanted to dig up some fashion favorites of mine that are all from well known & classy designers. Now that I have this new body, I am learning how to dress it. After gaining weight from my pregnancy, MOST of my beautiful clothes don't fit! I mostly find myself in anything super stretchy or pajamas. This dress I actually bought & wore when I was seven months pregnant. It is extremely stretchy, so that's why it still fits, unlike everything else. It is NOT a maternity dress, I bought it from Barney's CO-OP in San Marcos (the outlet). This is a dress that I would have bought even if I wasn't pregnant & I guess that is why I love it so much (and it is super comfortable).

Sweet as Honey: 9 Months

Hello Honeybees,

Tory is nine months old (yesterday!). So here are the updates on her nine month journey so far:

1//: She now has THREE teeth! 

2//: Her favorite food is pumpkin! Especially mixed with blueberries or bananas! (In some of these pictures, you can actually see pumpkin on her forehead-she wouldn't let me wipe it off! Oh well)

3//: Her favorite daily activity is still eating paper! 

4//: She still doesn't sleep through the nights. Like last night. I couldn't get her to sleep! 

5//: She is still in size 3 diapers, but I think she finally is needing to go up to 4s. 

6//: She used to like her jumpy chair, but now hates it. First it was the swing, now the jumpy chair. So her new favorite piece of furniture is her walking chair (a chair she can sit and walk herself in). 

7//: Her new favorite pair of shoes are her pink converse! Another pair of shoes, besides her mocs, that she can't pull off & eat! 

8//: She is still happy as ever & ALWAYS giggling or smiling at her Mama! 

9//: I don't even bother making her any bottles smaller than 8 ounces anymore. She eats SO MUCH! (bottles, not baby food) but, fat babies are happy babies! And Tory is fat & happy!! :) 

And,

10//: Her hair is getting redder everyday! And much longer! There was a period where all her hair fell out & she was basically bald.
