First, I have to say that Hurricane Isaac is coming for us here in Louisiana. I wanted to get in a blog post today because I'm not sure if I will have power the rest of the week? I have no idea what to expect. Kinda scared. If the power does go out, I can't recharge my computer or phone. What will I do? Oh no. Especially without A/C. Ugh. I need to make a positive experience out of this. Happy thoughts. And, I did also want to say that if you email or send me an invoice or anything of that matter, it might take me a good second to get back to you. So please be patient. Thank you :)
This past weekend, my father was in town with his wife & we did a little antique shopping. My dad & I share a passion for "picking." We both love antiques & old memorabilia from any era. Something that I enjoy talking about & doing with my dad. I bought two records from an antique store, Elvis & Diana Ross. Then Joey & I bought two children's chairs (to go along with the other two we already had) from a favorite store of mine, Discoveries. It isn't antiques but their furniture is from all over the world & a lot of the pieces are one-of-a-kind, hand made or re-purposed. We also got one more little table (first picture) that is from India. Isn't it cute? I really love the bohemian style that my house is starting to get. And, lastly, we bought a little wall hanging that has little elephants dangling from it.
The few other items that I have pictured above, like the clock, are vintage. I bought it a while ago from a friend on Etsy but I just now got around to putting it up. The dream catcher was in my master bedroom, but I moved that to the guest bedroom. Looks better in there. Bought that from Etsy as well.
Since the hurricane is coming, family members are watching Tory for us. I snapped this picture right before Papa took her to the airport. Sometimes I get excited about getting a break but then as soon as I am done packing her bags, I just want to unpack them. And, I start crying. Ugh. I miss her so much already! She's my puzzle piece. Miss you Tory. See you Friday! Sad face. Until next time.
