This girl is crazy. A good crazy. I would have to agree with the people who say that redheads have a mind of their own. Because it is very true. She is fierce, honey! And, it is terrifying how smart she is for her age. She is bright with a matching bright personality. I should call her, "Little Miss Sunshine." She is adventurous, always exploring, and getting into just about everything that she can. Including, but not limited to, my shoes, purses and makeup! She loves to dance her pants off, strives to be a makeup wearing diva, snaps photos and videos of herself on my phone when I am not looking and wants to do everything herself. Even walk the dog.
We were at Baby Gap today, exchanging some stuff my mom had bought her, and Tory was waving her hands at me and saying, "No, no mommy." She had this look on her face too. Very sassy. She wanted to pick out her own clothes and do everything by herself. She also didn't want me to hold her or help her with grabbing anything! Tory's great aunt gave her a gift card to Baby Gap for Christmas so on top of exchanging a few items that my mom had bought her, we were doing a little extra shopping too. I think it is safe to assume that Tory likes shopping. Just like her mommy. We are two peas in a pod. Although, she is quite the socializer. Nothing like me. I'd have to say that that is her daddy's side coming out. She is very interactive with the other patrons in the store at all times, or any store we are ever in for that matter! She loves being center of attention.
I commend her for wanting to do everything herself, but sometimes in life you need a helping hand. Or at least that is what Pastor Mike says. The attitude she gets with me sometimes when I try to help her is a big "no-no." On the positive side, I will have to say that she is a pretty, happy kid. She smiles a lot, laughs often and tortures my poor dog, Sookie (which she loves to do). Sookie and Tory have a love/hate relationship. Tory loves messing with Sookie and Sookie hates that Tory took her spot as my "number one girl." They do play and have fun, don't get me wrong. Pomeranians are really great with kids. Sookie has a lot of tolerance for Tory.
I know I get stressed out about not being this big, business woman who saves the world every single day, but I have a lot of fun with Tory at home. Yes, I wish that I could finally start a career but maybe being a housewife isn't so bad. Why do housewives get such a bad rep anyways? Why are they beaten up on all the time? I guess that's why I put so much pressure on myself to get a full-time job, so everyone will stop assuming that I am doing nothing with my life. I just want to have more credentials than that, which isn't bad. But at the same time, there's nothing wrong with staying at home either. I hate it when people ask me what I do all day, because I feel like it is a condescending and rhetorical question. I should stop giving housewives such a hard time, especially since I am one.
I love having a kid that challenges me everday. And, I got really lucky when I landed such a girly-girl! Tory loves playing dress up with me -even when I'm not around. When I come home from work, it is a guarantee that she is probably wearing a shirt or pair of shorts of mine. If I ever can't find her, I know that she is somewhere chilling in my closet. She has either climbed her way up to the top shelf where all my purses are or she is putting on some of my heels. She loves dressing herself in sparkle and pink and as girly as she is, her favorite pair of shoes are her Nike sneakers. Hey! That's not a bad thing. I daydream about squishy, "old lady," orthopedic shoes every time I am "out" running my housewife errands or at work. I've gotten to the point where comfort is everything to me. Sad but true for this so-called stiletto lover.

Alexandra|| $35.00
Navy Positano||$49.50
Sahara Wedge||$59.50
Sea Star Wedge||$59.50
Sun Cascade||$49.50
Fibi & Clo New York launches five, new sandal designs this month and aren't they just beautiful!? I think so.
My favorite is the Sun Cascade because I love how the strap goes across the foot like that. I have never seen that design before until I was introduced to this brand. It really pops out at me. I am attracted to unique pieces of fashion, rather than trendy because I want items that I can wear season after season and I also don't want to see it on everybody else. So, if you want a spring/summer sandal that is going to make a different statement, then I'd have to recommend the "Cascade" style. On Fibi & Clo's online boutique, you can find seven different color combos of the sandal here:
||Smoke||Sun||Black||Burst||Gold||Gold 2||Burst Wedge||
The Sea Star Wedge is my second favorite sandal of the new collection. I'd love to style it for a pool party with my girlfriends or out on the lake with my family. Aren't wedges the only acceptable style of heel to pair with your bikini? Yes. The wedge allows for a dressier but still casual feel and sometimes I want to look a little more put together while out in the sun. Most of the time, I want to be as comfortable and casual as possible, so that means no makeup, messy hair, flip-flops & throwing on a terrycloth cover-up. If that's the look I am going for, then I'd slip on the Alexandra sandal. This sandal actually comes with both gunmetal and gold emblems to switch out -which is perfect for someone like me who goes back & forth between metals!
The Navy Positano sandal was inspired by Yves Saint Laurent, "After a morning walk through Yves Saint Laurent's garden full of cobalt blue, I instantly knew I had to have this color." I have to agree, that cobalt blue is a must have color for Spring 2014. That quote can be found on the Fibi & Clo blog here and you can read more about the founder, AnaLiza, thoughts, inspirations and what she is up in New York here. I knew I liked her and her company right off the bat -she's also a Texas girl (graduated from the University of Texas in Austin) who now lives in New York, where she started her company. One day I hope to move there too.
The Sahara Wedge is a great, "go-to" sandal because it is casual in color, but the embellishment on the straps can also make it dressy. With that combo, you can pair the sandal with just about anything. Wear the sandal with a fancy, maxi dress or with a pair of denim shorts. The two-inch wedge gives you some elevation but not too much, so you could wear the sandal to work, out running errands or even to the park with your youngsters.
All of these styles pictured above are for pre-sale order only. All orders made with ship out on 1/20/2014. This post was put together in collaboration with Fibi & Clo. All photos are courtesy of Fibi & Clo. All written material is done by myself and all opinions are 100% my own. Thank you.
